Frequently asked questions
The short answers. For step-by-step walkthroughs, see the tutorials.
Is Sendit really free?
Yes — free while we grow, no card required. There's no paywall on the core product: smart links, your artist page, the press kit, email capture, broadcasts, and exporting your list are all free. Some advanced features down the road (custom domains, real pre-saves, retargeting pixels) may land in a paid tier, but the basics stay free.
Do I need a distributor before I can use Sendit?
No. Sendit links to your music wherever it already lives — Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, SoundCloud, YouTube, anywhere. If you're not on streaming services yet, you can still build your artist page, press kit, and mailing list, and add custom links to wherever your music can be heard.
What's a smart link?
One short URL that opens a landing page with buttons for every store your release is on — so you share a single link and every fan lands on their preferred platform. Sendit tracks views and clicks so you can see what's working.
Which stores are supported?
Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, YouTube, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer, Pandora, SoundCloud, and Bandcamp are detected automatically — plus you can add any custom link with its own label (merch, lyric videos, pay-what-you-want pages, anything).
How does the Spotify catalog import work?
Paste your Spotify artist URL and Sendit builds a smart-link page for every album and single in your public discography — cover art, release dates, and store buttons included. Missing stores are looked up by the release's barcode (UPC) for exact matches. Imports run 30 releases at a time; re-run to pick up the rest or to refresh links on existing pages.
Can I edit the pages the import created?
Everything is editable: titles, artwork, store buttons, custom links, themes, URLs, publish state. If you re-import later with “refresh releases I already have”, Sendit updates store links and fills missing artwork but never overwrites your customizations.
Who owns my mailing list?
You do. Export the full list as CSV any time from the Audience page — no paywall, no lock-in. Sendit never emails your fans except on your behalf (your broadcasts, signup confirmations, and unsubscribe handling).
Why do subscribers have to confirm their email?
That's double opt-in: fans get a confirmation email and join your list when they tap the link. It keeps bots and typos off your list, prevents anyone from signing up someone else's address, and is the single biggest factor in your emails actually reaching inboxes.
How do fans unsubscribe?
Every broadcast includes a one-click unsubscribe link (plus the standards-based List-Unsubscribe header email apps show natively). Unsubscribed addresses are suppressed automatically from future sends — you never have to manage it.
Is the pre-save a real pre-save?
It's what we call pre-save-lite: set a future release date and your page shows a countdown and collects emails from fans who want to know when it drops — then flips to store buttons automatically on release day. A real OAuth pre-save (adding to fans' libraries automatically) is on the roadmap.
Can I put the signup form on my own website?
Yes — the Audience page gives you a copy-paste iframe snippet that works on Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, or plain HTML. Signups flow into the same mailing list with the same double opt-in.
Can I use my own domain?
Not yet — pages live at sendit.music/your-handle. Custom domains are on the roadmap.
Does Sendit take a cut of anything, or show ads?
No. Sendit doesn't sit between you and your stores, doesn't take a percentage of anything, and doesn't put ads on your pages.
How do I report a page that's impersonating someone or breaking the rules?
Every public page has a Report link in its footer. Reports go to a moderation queue we review — see our Terms for what's not allowed.
How do I delete a page or my whole account?
Any smart link can be unpublished (hidden, recoverable) or deleted permanently from its editor. To delete your entire account and data, email hello@sendit.music and we'll take care of it.
